Fingal County Council select Portable Flexim Clamp On Ultrasonic Flowmeter to cover flow measurement where inline Mag meter failed on 1.2m line

Fingal County Council faced a flow metering challenge on a 1.2-meter water line where an existing electromagnetic flow meter failed in service. A Flexim Clamp-on Ultrasonic Flowmeter was installed by our service team to the outside of the pipe beside the failed mag meter to provide accurate flow data while awaiting delivery and the complex installation of a replacement mag meter.

The installation of any inline flow meter requires shutting down your process and isolating flow for the duration of the install. This is often quite inconvenient but even more so when it involves a 1.2-meter water line on a 24/7 water treatment facility supplying mains water to a large portion of Dublin.

An existing mag meter installed on this line failed, and running repairs were not possible. The long lead time for the replacement meter, coupled with the prospect of a complex installation, left the client facing an extended flow data outage.

Our team of specialist engineers installed a Flexim Model FC601 clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeter to the outside of the pipeline, right next to the mag meter. It was correctly configured to output accurate flow data to cover the outage.
