Non Invasive Flow Measurement Meath County Council using Flexim Clamp - on Ultrasonic Flowmeter

A large wastewater treatment plant in County Meath required a solution to monitor the incoming flow of wastewater delivered by road tankers. Our regional support team tested this application using portable clamp-on ultrasonic flow meters to verify suitability. The client was satisfied with the performance of the instrument and proceeded to purchase a fixed clamp-on flow meter.

Navan Wastewater Treatment Plant serves as a central hub for treating waste streams from smaller wastewater treatment plants across County Meath. Waste products are delivered to the Navan facility by road, where they are processed. Meath County Council needed an accurate and effective solution to collect volumetric data on waste delivered from multiple feeder locations.

The Hanley Technology support team visited the site with a portable Flexim clamp-on flow meter to demonstrate its capabilities to the client’s satisfaction. The simplicity and non-disruptive nature of the installation, combined with the accurate and reliable performance of the meter, led the client to select this technology for permanent fixed measurement.

The client was particularly drawn to the fact that the meter clamps onto the outside of the pipe and does not come into contact with the waste stream. This feature mitigates the risk of damage from debris in the waste stream, a common issue with inline flow meters.
